Type of mutation: Blackshoulder Silver Pieds combine the blackshoulder and silver pied pattern mutations with the traditional India Blue color.
Peacock Coloration: Males look very similar to India Blue Silver Pieds, with approximately 75% or more white plumage with some patches of original coloration. The exception is that any colored feathers on the wings will be solid black, not white and black barred.
Peahen Coloration: Many of the black splotches of the normal blackshoulder hen are replaced with solid white. This is especially noticeable on the wing feathers, which are brown in normal blackshoulder hens and mostly white in blackshoulder silver pieds.
Do they breed true?: No. Although the Blackshoulder pattern will breed true, silver pied does not. Approximately 50% of chicks will be blackshoulder silver pieds, 25% will be blackshoulder white eyeds, and 25% will look white but will be dominant for the blackshoulder pattern.
