Originally, Opal Blackshoulders were known as Jettas, but that name never was as well known as Oaten, perhaps due to the newness and rarity of the Opal color compared to Cameo. |

Type of mutation: Opal Blackshoulders are a combination of the opal color mutation and the blackshoulder pattern mutation. |

Peacock Coloration: Opal Blackshoulders have the typical grayish-brown with aquamarine tint of regular Opals, but their wings are solid brown. |

Peahen Coloration: Hens resemble regular blackshoulders with light gray splotching on their backs. |
|
Do they breed true?: Yes, Opal Blackshoulders will breed true. |
