Opal Blackshoulder Pied

Type of mutation: Opal Blackshoulder Pieds are a combination of the opal color mutation and the pied and blackshoulder pattern mutations.
Peacock Coloration: Opal Blackshoulder Pied males are approximately half white, half normal opal coloration, which is a grayish-brown with an aqua marine sheen. All colored feathers on the wings are solid gray, not barred white and gray.
Peahen Coloration: Opal Blackshoulder Pied hens are mostly white with patches of gray coloring. Some of their wing primary feathers are white rather than the usual brown.
Do they breed true?: No, Opal Blackshoulder Pieds will not breed true. They produce approximately 50% Opal Blackshoulder Pieds, 25% White (dominant for opal and blackshoulder) and 25% Opal Blackshoulder Dark Pieds.
