India Blue Pied White-eyed

The Pied pattern is often combined with the White Eyed pattern to create stunning birds with pied markings and white ocelli.
Type of mutation: Pied White Eyed is a combination of the Pied and White Eyed pattern mutations.
Peacock Coloration: Males have India Blue coloration speckled and splotched with white. Tail feathers that are not solid white from the pied pattern have a white center. The amount of white in the ocelli can vary slightly from bird to bird.
Peahen Coloration: Hens are also normally colored except for the white splotches. Pied white eyed hens can be distinguished from regular pied hens by the white tipped feathers on their back and tail, which are noticeably different than a solid white patch.
Do they breed true?: No. The pied pattern does not breed true, although the white eyed pattern does. A pied white eyed x pied white eyed cross will result in (approximately) 25% white chicks dominant for the white eyed gene, 50% pied white eyeds, and 25% dark pied white eyeds.
