Purple Blackshoulder Pied

Type of mutation: Purple Blackshoulder Pieds combine the Purple color mutation and the Blackshoulder and Pied pattern mutations.
Peacock Coloration: Purple Blackshoulder Pieds have typical Purple Blackshoulder coloration (blue bodies with a purplish sheen, solid light brown wings, and green and purple ocelli) which is randomly replaced by patches of white feathers.
Peahen Coloration: The difference between Purple Blackshoudler and Purple Blackshoulder Pied hens is not obvious, but can be distinguished. Hens are mostly white in color, with splotches of dark brown and black on their backs in typical Blackshoulder fashion. Many of these splotches are replaced by areas of solid white, and some of the primary wing feathers are white or partially white, giving them overall a much lighter appearance than Purple Blackshoulders.
Do they breed true?: No, Purple Blackshoulders Pieds do not breed true. Purple Blackshoulder Pieds produce approximately 50% Purple Blackshoulder Pieds, 25% Whites (dominant for the purple and blackshoulder genes) and 25% Purple Blackshoudler Dark Pieds.
