Purple Blackshoulder Spalding

Type of mutation: Purple Blackshoulder Spaldings are Java Green/India Blue hybrids with the purple color mutation and the blackshoulder pattern mutation.
Peacock Coloration: Purple Blackshoulder Spalding cocks look very similar to regular Purple Blackshoulders in plumage, but have a taller, leaner body structure with colored facial skin and a tight crest.
Peahen Coloration: The Green heritage of these birds give the hens more color than blackshoulder hens of all India Blue-derived color mutations. Their heads are usually dark brown and their necks purple. The splotches along their backs are more numerous, giving them overall a darker appearance somewhat close to the appearance of purple spalding hens.
Do they breed true?: Purple Blackshoulder Spalding x Purple Blackshoulder Spaldings will produce 100% Purple Blackshoulder Spalding offspring. But, the amount of Green traits exhibited will vary from bird to bird, as with all Spaldings. The Purple gene remains sex-linked.
