Type of mutation: These birds combine the purple color mutation with the pied pattern mutation.
Peacock Coloration: Males primarily have typical Purple coloration (blue neck with a decidedly purple sheen, light brown and white barred wings, and green tail feathers that fade to a dusty brown), interrupted by random areas of white feathers.
Peahen Coloration: Hens also have normal Purple coloration (brown with purple feathers at their neck) with the addition of patches of white.
Peachick Coloration: Peachicks are a creamy brown color with large areas of white on their wings and soft yellow on their bodies.
Do they breed true?: No, because the pied mutation does not breed true. All offspring will be purple, but only approximately half of them will be purple pied. 25% will look white, but be dominant for the purple color, and 25% will be purple dark pied.
