Type of mutation: These birds combine the color mutation purple with the pattern mutations pied and white eyed.
Peacock Coloration: Males primarily have typical Purple coloration, with random areas of white feathers. The center of most ocelli is also white, although the number of "white eyed" feathers and the size of the white spot varies from bird to bird.
Peahen Coloration: Hens also have normal Purple coloration with the addition of patches of white. Many of their normal colored back feathers are tipped with white, which indicates their white eyed gene.
Peachick Coloration: Peachicks are a creamy brown color with large areas of white on their wings and soft yellow on their bodies.
Origin: Purple Pied White Eyed were created by crossing purple peafowl with India Blue Pied White Eyeds.
Do they breed true?: No, because the pied mutation does not breed true. All offspring will be some sort of purple white eyed, since both these traits breed true, but only approximately half of them will be purple pied white eyed. 25% will look white, but will be dominant for the purple and white eyed genes, and 25% will be purple dark pied white eyed.
