Spalding Pied

Type of mutation:Spalding Pieds are hybrid India Blue/Java Green peafowl exhibiting the Pied pattern mutation.
Peacock Coloration: Spalding Pied coloration varies, but aside from the random patches of white overlaying their normal coloration, Spalding Pied males are usually more green than India Blues, with tighter crests, longer legs, and colored facial patches.
Peahen Coloration: Spalding Pied coloration varies, but aside from random white patches Spalding pied hens are usually darker than India Blue hens, more brown than gray, with larger amounts of green coloration on their neck and a lither, taller body structure, tight crest and some yellow facial skin.
Do they breed true?: No. The Pied mutation does not breed true, and offspring will exhibit varying degrees of Green characteristics. Offspring will be approximately 50% Spalding Pied, 25% Spalding White and 25% Spalding Dark Pied.
