Spalding White Eyed

Type of mutation: Spalding White Eyeds are a hybrid of the India Blue and Java Green peafowl that are also dominant for the white eyed pattern mutation.
Peacock Coloration: Males are thinner than typical blues, as well as larger. Coloration varies, but the crest is shorter and tighter than the green's. While they may still be blue, spalding males shine more bluish-green in direct sunlight. There is a patch of yellow in the facial skin. The centers of the ocelli in the train are white, as usually are a few primary wing feathers. There is often a white throat patch and small white specks on the shoulders.
Peahen Coloration: Coloration varies, but spalding white eyed hens usually show more characteristics of the green than the blue. The neck and chest show more solid green than the India Blue, and the bird usually exhibits a small yellow facial patch. Some of the primary wing feathers are white, and there is usually a white throat patch. There is also white on the tips of some of the neck and back feathers.
Peachick Coloration: Spalding white eyed chicks are usually slightly darker than regular India blue chicks and slightly lighter than regular Spalding chicks. A few of their wing primary feathers are white.
Do they breed true?: The white eyed pattern does, but all offspring may show varying levels of Spalding characteristics.
